Business Swedish for IT Professionals and Tech Teams

Working in tech in Sweden often means moving between two languages during the same working day. The stand-up may be in English, while side conversations switch to Swedish. A PR description is written in English, but the all-hands is in Swedish. Slack works fine in English – until the conversation moves to fika, lunch or the quick discussion after a meeting.

Our Business Swedish training for IT professionals is built around those situations. You can join individually, study together with a few colleagues or arrange training for a larger tech team. Lessons are available online or in person in Stockholm and are adapted to the roles, language levels and situations your team actually encounters at work.

A course built around the IT workday

The focus is not textbook Swedish. It is the Swedish you actually need during the working week – in stand-ups and retros, customer calls, ticket discussions, architecture meetings and the informal conversations around them.

Grammar and vocabulary are integrated into those situations rather than taught as separate exercises. The aim is to help participants explain ideas clearly, ask follow-up questions, handle technical discussions and feel more comfortable when a conversation shifts from English to Swedish.

Workplace Swedish – meetings, retros, stand-ups and everyday communication with colleagues.
Tech vocabulary – terminology related to your stack, methodology, projects and team rituals.
Pronunciation, intonation and fluency – becoming easier to understand and more comfortable when speaking.
Explaining bugs, blockers and solutions – communicating technical problems clearly in Swedish without losing precision.
Customer and stakeholder communication – presenting solutions, asking questions and adapting technical language to different audiences.
The informal side of work – fika, lunch, after-work and the small conversations that help colleagues become teammates.

Individual lessons or training for your tech team

You can take Business Swedish as an individual professional or study together with colleagues. Small groups work particularly well when participants have similar roles and language levels, allowing us to build lessons around situations the team already shares.
